Dave Eveland

Dave grew up in Tifton (South!) Georgia. After high school he enlisted in the Navy and got to see the world during his service. Dave graduated from the University of Georgia with a Psychology degree and remains loyal to his school to this day. Dave spent more than 20 years as a Librarian, including 16 years in Reno, NV (Washoe County) with a career-defining opportunity as the Managing Librarian for the Verdi Community Library. Dave’s commitment to literacy included an initiative to get a library card for every first grader in Washoe County. Dave returned to Athens, Georgia and worked in the University of Georgia Libraries before seeking an new, exciting opportunity with NCAIA.

Fun facts:

1. Dave served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kittyhawk (his first connection to North Carolina)
2. An endurance athlete, Dave competed in events ranging from a Winter Biathlon to Ironman Triathlons all around the country
3. A lifelong, avid reader, Dave can spoil or fact check the movies/TV shows you’re watching, only if you let him (Ha Ha!)
