October 2020: Put the Lid on Kitchen Fires!

Fire Prevention Month

Every October, we recognize Fire Protection Month by sharing educational resources focused on protecting our clients, their families and property. Check out more information for each year’s campaign below. As Independent Insurance Agents, we are committed to providing this protection both through insurance products and education. And, since 1996, we have been proud to promote the Operation EDITH fire-safety program in North Carolina to encourage parents of young children to talk to their kids about fire safety and educate them on the life-saving importance of regularly practicing an Exit Drill In The Home. Fire Safety Campaign: Put the Lid on Kitchen Fires!

As we all continue to remain safer at home, that means more cooking at home and new challenges related to safety. Kitchen fires are the leading cause of home fire occurrences, and unfortunately, one of the deadlier.

With 133 fire related fatalities in 2018, 117 in 2019 and 79 so far in 2020, we have a lot of work to do on our journey to preventing kitchen fires. This starts with education and awareness.

For October 2020, join us as we Put the Lid on Kitchen Fires!
